The Tale of Bottle McGee

It’s the roaring twenties in the windy city, and it’s the height of prohibition.

The mob runs the speakeasies while the cops try to stop them, if they’re not secretly on the same side. It’s a complex dance of backroom deals and alleyway murders, arrests and legal loopholes, power plays and bloody violence. And in the shadows, darker and stranger things plot, unseen by mortal eyes. Chicago is full of secrets, mundane and otherwise, and there are shallow graves full of those who tried to find them.

You, of course, don’t know about any of this. You don’t really know anything.

After all, until five seconds ago, you were just a bottle of alcohol being smuggled into the city.

Then a wizard tried to interfere with the mob, they died, the ambient magic flowed into you, and now you’re alive. And, of course, about to be destroyed by the cops, drained by the wizards or served by the mob. None of those sound great!

But you’ve got autonomy and lingering powers, so you’re not completely helpless.

Come on boys! It’s time to get to work!
